How the puppies grow up

  1. Weeks 0–4

    Rest for mother and puppies

For the first four weeks there are no visitors. Mother and puppies get all the peace and quiet they need to bond.

  2. From week 2

    Deworming

The puppies are dewormed every two weeks.

  3. Weeks 3–4

    Socialising

The puppies get to know household sounds, children and new experiences. That’s how they grow into stable, confident dogs.

  4. Week 6

    Microchip and vaccination

The puppies are microchipped, vaccinated and checked by the vet. Everything is recorded in their passport.

  5. Week 8

    Off to their new home

With a European pet passport, a vet’s health certificate and a puppy pack, they go home with their new family.

Health of our breeding dogs

Our breeding dogs are checked for the known weak spots of the breed. The stud is chosen carefully for each female and is fully health-tested.

  • Official nose measurement (nose-to-skull ratio)
  • Hip dysplasia (HD) and elbow dysplasia (ED)
  • Patellar luxation
  • Hemivertebrae (spinal malformations)
  • Ectropion (eyelid condition)
  • Colour DNA test

The health of a French Bulldog

My priority is puppies from a healthy line, and that starts with healthy parents. My girls are thoroughly examined and tested for hereditary conditions, so I can rule out as many problems as possible.

A DNA test predicts which colours the puppies will have. Our girls have beautiful colours such as Blue, Tan, Blue Merle, Choco, Lilac and Isabella. These colours are not recognised by the Dutch kennel club (Raad van Beheer). That’s why our puppies don’t get an FCI pedigree, but one from the European Kennel Club (EKC) and the ESR studbook.

The ESR registers dogs in a studbook to promote their health. The EKC also organises shows: you can take part in lots of fun shows, just not in FCI shows.
